Vermont Awards Workers’ Compensation Engagement to FAIR Health
February 20, 2025
In 2024, as a result of a competitive bidding process, Vermont retained FAIR Health to assist the state in updating two workers’ compensation fee schedules and associated guidelines.
FAIR Health entered into an agreement with the Vermont Department of Labor to update the fee schedule for medical practitioners (professional fees) and the schedule for hospital and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) facility fees. This is Vermont’s first workers’ compensation fee schedule update since 2006. FAIR Health will assist the Department of Labor to update workers’ compensation rates, and many codes that have been added to CPT®1 will be incorporated. When the final fee schedules have been approved, we will distribute them from the FAIR Health orders website.
FAIR Health supports multiple states with workers’ compensation programs, assisting Arizona, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Tennessee to update their fee schedules on a regular basis. We continue to grow in the workers’ compensation field, supporting states’ programs in different ways. For example, FAIR Health provides data licenses to additional states to use in creating, updating or analyzing fee schedules themselves; gap-fills data for states with Medicare-based fee schedules; provides detailed education about updates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the American Medical Association; and furnishes certified databases that can be used when challenges to rates arise in states that do not have fee schedules.
