The Year So Far in Media Coverage of FAIR Health

In 2025 as in past years, a wide range of news sources have cited FAIR Health studies, data and consumer resources. These media outlets reach both popular audiences and specialized audiences within the healthcare industry. As a result of this media recognition, awareness of FAIR Health has continued to grow, furthering FAIR Health’s mission to bring transparency to healthcare costs and health insurance information. Following is a sampling of media coverage of FAIR Health so far in 2025.
FAIR Health Studies
Many outlets have covered FAIR Health’s most recent white paper, Obesity and GLP-1 Drugs: A Claims-Based Analysis, which was released on May 27. Those outlets included Axios, Axios Vitals, Fortune, Daily Beast, Becker’s Hospital Review, Healthcare Dive, MedPage Today, Fierce Healthcare, Healthcare Finance and Patient Care.
On March 31, FAIR Health released the eighth edition of FH® Healthcare Indicators and FH® Medical Price Index, its annual review of place of service trends and medical pricing. This white paper was featured in Becker’s Hospital Review and Modern Healthcare.
Past studies of FAIR Health continue to serve as sources for the media. In May, Forbes cited a 2024 FAIR Health infographic on sexually transmitted diseases. In February, Healthcare Finance cited a 2023 FAIR Health white paper on primary care, and The Herald-Times cited a 2023 FAIR Health brief on ground ambulances.
Shared Decision Making
On June 4, FAIR Health released a brief about the clinical use of its shared decision-making tools, Shared Decision-Making Tools for Older Adults in a Clinical Setting: Insights from a Learning Exchange with Healthcare Providers. It was covered in an article in McKnight’s Long-Term Care News.
FAIR Health’s launch on February 12 of the Alzheimer’s disease shared decision-making tool received widespread recognition, appearing in news outlets such as McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, Trend Hunter, News Medical and BenefitsLink Health & Welfare Plans Newsletter.
Trackers
The monthly releases in 2025 of FAIR Health’s Monthly Telehealth Regional Tracker were featured in several publications, including McKnight’s Senior Living, Becker’s Hospital Review, ReachMD and Sleep Review. BenefitsLink Health & Welfare Plans Newsletter covered the semiannual Telehealth Tracker Trending Reports.
In May, The Hill cited FAIR Health’s Cost of Giving Birth Tracker. The June 17 update of the Cost of Giving Birth Tracker was reported in BenefitsLink Health & Welfare Plans Newsletter.
FAIR Health Consumer
Notable citations in 2025 of FAIR Health’s consumer website fairhealthconsumer.org include Oprah Daily, U.S. News & World Report, Chicago Sun-Times and Vox.
FAIR Health Data
FAIR Health data were cited in an article on a high medical bill by KFF Health News that also appeared in several other outlets, including The Washington Post and California Healthline. The Cleveland, Ohio, television station Fox 8 cited FAIR Health data in a story on starting a family in Ohio. FAIR Health data were mentioned in The Self-Insurer in the context of independent dispute resolution.
