First Georgia Workers’ Compensation Dental Fee Schedule Released

April 01, 2017

With the support of FAIR Health, the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation (SBWC) has for the first time developed a fee schedule to address work-related dental injuries. The first-ever Georgia Workers’ Compensation Dental Fee Schedule includes maximum allowable reimbursement amounts based on FAIR Health data for approximately 600 dental procedures, listed by Current Dental Terminology (CDT) procedure codes, for on-the-job dental injuries and conditions.

This new resource was developed in conjunction with the production of the update of the Georgia Workers’ Compensation Medical Fee Schedule for 2017. For the third consecutive year, FAIR Health worked closely with the SBWC to update its program’s medical fees. The process entailed a complete review of the 2016 schedule, the addition of new procedure codes and descriptions, the removal of obsolete codes and updates to codes for the full range of professional, outpatient, inpatient and HCPCS reimbursements available through Georgia’s workers’ compensation program.

The dental and medical fee schedules, both of which became effective April 1, 2017, are available exclusively at GeorgiaWC.fairhealth.org. Interested parties can order the 2017 medical and dental fee schedules, as well as the 2015 and 2016 medical schedules, in electronic or hard-copy formats.

FAIR Health President Robin Gelburd remarked, “We appreciate the opportunity to work with Georgia in updating and distributing the state’s workers’ compensation fee schedule for the third consecutive year—including this first-ever fee schedule for dental services. The SBWC’s trust in our expertise, data and the high level of service that we provide to organizations ordering the fee schedules is especially gratifying.”
